PGY-1: 3 cases where you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the applications listed in the monthly rotation objectives (eFAST,first trimester pelvic, IVC, vascular access)

PGY-2: 3 cases where you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the applications listed in the monthly rotation objectives (undifferentiated hypotension, undifferentiated dyspnea, gallbladder, ocular)

 

Case Presentation Objectives

  • Ultrasound topic:Your choice
  • Deadline: Friday of your rotation week
  • Length: 10 minutes
  • Still images/Videos: Your own original or from Q-path
  • Differential diagnoses: Include the u/s differential diagnoses
  • References: Use the u/s literature, websites/podcasts
  • Wrap-up: Present your final conclusions
Pearls
  • Your case presentation should focus on u/s
  • Include teaching the u/s application and technique, normal and abnormal
  • Ask the u/s faculty for help/ideas prn
  • Consider going to fast track, the ICU, pediatrics, or other areas to find interesting cases
  • Be creative!
